It's do-or-die for Chelsea as they trail 1-0 from their UEFA Champions League first-leg quarter-final clash to Manchester United. Catch the latest with ESPNSTAR.com!
The Blues will have all the pressure on them as they travel to Old Trafford seeking to overturn the deficit from the first-leg, but will not relish the statistic that only two sides have ever recovered from a first-leg home loss to progress to the later stages of the Champions League.
Ahead of their clash, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he felt that owner Roman Abramovich seems "obsessed" with the competition.
"It does seem to be an obsession with Chelsea to win the European Cup," said Ferguson.
"That is why they signed Fernando Torres. The owner has every much nailed his colours to the mast in that respect. I have felt that for quite a while with him.
"To have an obsession of winning the European Cup is stretching yourself a wee bit. At the end of the day it is a very difficult competition to win.
"But I can understand it because I had the obsession myself for quite a while. I lost semi-finals and you say to yourself you are never going to do it.
"When we achieved it in Barcelona, it was the greatest feeling of all time.
Perhaps it is that very same feeling that Abramovich is craving?
Frank Lampard certainly thinks that his Chelsea side owe it to the owner to win the "cup with the big years" this season.
The 32-year-old was quoted in The Sun as saying: "Everything I've achieved in the last 10 years has only been possible because of the owner's investment.
"I never envisaged that we would be winning league titles, competing in the Champions League and fighting on all fronts year after year so quickly.
"Everything changed when Mr Abramovich arrived in 2003. He has made a huge investment and we are all very thankful.
"I'd be very proud to win the Champions League for a lot of reasons but I definitely understand the thought process that we owe it to him to win it.
"He never sits us down and says 'You must win the Champions League, this is the main thing'. But we all know it would be a fantastic thing to him.
"And he deserves it for all that he has given to the club."
