Sony Ericsson Xperia Play delays: 'supply chain issues' blamed

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will be released today at a string of mobile stores, including Orange and Carphone Warehouse, although the mobile maker has admitted that it’s been suffering from “supply chain issues”, meaning some networks won’t have the phones from the get go.

Yesterday, Three and Vodafone followed O2 in delaying the Xperia Play’s release. The latter is the only one to have claimed the problems with the phone are down to software bugs rather than problems getting the devices into the UK.

Sony Ericsson’s UK MD, Nathan Vautier, told the Telegraph that the mobile, known unofficially as the PlayStation phone,

would be up for grabs “market wide” today.

The Xperia Play’s delays have grabbed plenty of headlines and the phone has received mixed reviews, with its design and build being called into question. Are you getting an Xperia Play
